Delicious Diabetes Diet Recipes

Creating a healthy diabetic diet plan is the first essential step to effective management of type II diabetes. In addition to keeping blood sugar levels under control, a good plan can also help you shed excess pounds. Of course, you don’t want to sacrifice flavor and meal enjoyment in your quest for weight loss. The good news is you can enjoy your food and lose weight too, with diabetes diet recipes that are as delicious as they are nutritious.

Elements of a Healthy Diabetic Diet Plan

Foods that belong in a diabetic diet plan include those that are rich in nutrients and low in fat. Some good options include whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and low-fat dairy products. WebMD recommends diabetes diet recipes that consist of around 50 percent carbohydrates, 30 percent “good” fat and 15 percent protein.
